For family, friends, and helpers

Help someone, one question at a time.

Start with what the person wants help with. Keep them involved in decisions and let them set the pace.

Prepare together

  1. Ask what matters today

A bill, an appointment, or an unanswered question is enough of a starting point.

  2. Check what permission is needed

Ask the organization what authorization it needs before it can discuss someone else’s information. Being a helper does not automatically provide that authority.

  3. Keep private notes privately

Do not enter the person’s name, Medicare number, or health details here. A shared-device checklist may be visible to others.
